We work at the intersection of data, research and societal analysis. This means that we collect and process knowledge and place it within a broader context that includes policy, industrial development, technology, global trends and societal needs.
Our work ranges from data-driven overviews to more in-depth analyses. We develop knowledge products such as case studies, thematic reports, legal and policy reviews, and broader assessments of the blue economy.
We analyse concrete issues—for example, what happens when offshore wind meets aquaculture, how fisheries and sea-angling tourism affect coastal communities, or how international recommendations can be translated into a Norwegian context. We also produce larger insight series, such as our work with experts to make the recommendations of the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy relevant in a Norwegian setting.
Taken together, this provides a knowledge base that is valuable for industry, public authorities and others who need precise and exploratory analyses of developments in and around the ocean.
